Carnival of Healing #16 is being hosted by Phylameana Lila Desy of Sprial Visions. A blog carnival is a collection of information based on a theme. This Carnival of Healing is all about the sun - so let's bring on the sun!
Seasonal Affective Disorder is prevelant at this time of the year in the northern hemispheres due to time changes, shorter days, and less sun. Read more about SAD at the s.a.d.chronicles.
Read about the benefits of light at Hidden Poetry. Here's a quote: "The importance of light for the life of our planet has been known for centuries. But the extent of its importance in regulating the various functions of the human body has only recently been realized. The less light we receive, the less our cells interact and the more the immune system becomes depressed."
This is a great positive quote about sun and laughter - an unbeatable combination to maintain a positive mental attitude. Looking to shift your perspective to a positive one? Try Colour Walking - a deceptively simple idea.
Watch an inspiring movie as described Elisa at hip and zen pen. She writes "This year I saw the documentary "iThemba:Hope", which is a film about the Sinikithemba Choir, who sing to raise consciousness about HIV, and to be an advocate for those living with the disease. All of the members of the choir are HIV positive. It was a wonderful movie - sad, but also inspiring."
Crossroads Dispatches introduced me to a wonderful new concept called " moai, a mutual support network that provides financial, emotional, and social help throughout life". Check it out - worth reading Evelyn's post.
A Weight Lifted reminds us that the holidays are around the corner and it is just the right time to adjust your attitude and and get your healthy eating habits started - now!
