Positive Carnival #2

Pavel Langweil at Blog of Inspiration writes Don't give up. He starts “Everyone has dreams. Dreams are the food for our lives. Following dreams can fulfill our life - but not many dare to follow them, falling in the routine life of getting to/from work. But why? Are they too far, too unrealistic?” He also talks about subgoals - a nice reframing of how to break goals down into manageable pieces.

Baile Rochel writes “I'm embarrassed to admit... “ a humorous look at crocheting that helps to keep her sane. Baile says “The whole point of crocheting is to just keep my hands busy, without stress. I don't know what I'm doing, and that's fine with me”.

Gina Cobb uses her post Never, Never Give Up: Woman Found Alive 63 Days After Earthquake to underline her important reminder. As she puts it “Life lesson: When something is important --really, really important -- never, never, never give up”.

As the Positive Carnival pickin’s are slim I will highlight two of my own favorite posts. A photo a day keeps the doctor away and One red paper clip and a positive attitude.

Positive Carnival #1

This is the first Positive Carnival - a collection of positive posts from the www of blogs.

Brad Warbiany starts us off with
State of Fear . He questions why people spend so much of their time worrying about the risks instead of "looking at the glorious advantages of living in modern times". He states "Nothing is safe. Everything has risk. Once you get your mind around that little whopper, you can start to live you life again." Read Brad's post - it's exactly what we need to keep things in perspective.

Steve Pavlina has two posts for us. The first is
Skepticism is Harmful if Swallowed .
Steve posits that people hid behind the mask of skepticism in order to avoid appearing or doing something foolish.  Skepticism is harmful, he says, and encourages us to move beyond skepticism. He finishes his post with ....The skeptic says, “Let’s see if this will work.”  The intelligent person says, “Let’s see this work."

In
Tithing , Steve writes about the role of tithing in generating wealth. He writes "Tithing is the practice of giving away 10% of your income (tithe means “tenth”), usually to a charitable cause.  Some people absolutely swear by the practice of tithing and consider it integral to the process of wealth creation." Steve also suggest that tithing can help us overcome scarcity thinking. He finishes his post seeking to achieve the balance between giving and receiving.

Jim "Suldog" Sullivan's post
100 Years Old Today is
about his Grandmother's 100 birthday on December 1st. He writes, "When my Grandma was born television wasn't even an idea, let alone a reality...Women didn't have the right to vote ....the average life expectancy in the United States was forty-seven. He closes with this.... "She has done more, with what she's been given, than anyone else I know. I treasure the time I spend with her now and the times I have spent with her in the past. I couldn't have asked for a Grandmother, made to my specifications, who could possibly have been more perfect than the one that I have." Read what's in between - it's a great read!

I'd like to mention a few positive blogs that I've encountered in my blog travels:

Dr. Deborah Serani writes a blog called Psychological Perspectives - great content on all things psychological, cool graphics. (In the interest of full disclosure she used my post How to Stay Positive During the Holidays on her blog.)

Phylameana lila Désy from Spiral Visions hosts many a Carnival of Healing and does a great job. Visit her blog for all sorts of interesting articles related to health, wellness, and healing.

Three Wise Women is a lively, passionate blog from, yup you guess it - three wise women, Judith, Marion, and Jane. Check out Judith 's post on  Stealth Helping - what a wonderful idea!

For those of you who've made it to the bottom of this post and love to pop bubble wrap this is for you - pop away!

Positive Carnival Invitation

You are invited to a Positive Carnival - a collection of current blog posts about all things positive and uplifting! Not sure what a blog carnival is? Here's Blog Carnival's definition:

A Blog Carnival is a particular kind of blog community. There are many kinds of blogs, and they contain articles on many kinds of topics. Blog Carnivals typically collect together links pointing to blog articles on a particular topic. A Blog Carnival is like a magazine. It has a title, a topic, editors, contributors, and an audience. Editions of the carnival typically come out on a regular basis (e.g. every monday, or on the first of the month). Each edition is a special blog article that consists of links to all the contributions that have been submitted, often with the editors opinions or remarks.

Blog carnivals are an excellent way to highlight your blog and increase readership. I will host the Positive Carnival for now and welcome your positive post submissions.
Positive Carnival deadlines are the first and third Friday of each month at noon EST.

Submissions having to do with positive mental attitude, emotional wellness, well-being, facing and overcoming obstacles, mental health, etc. are welcome.

Please use this submission form at Blog Carnival or this submission form at ConservativeCat to be included in the next Positive Carnival on December 2nd. Submissions are due Wednesday, November 30.
